US Increasing Pressure on Iran
U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson declared during a press conference on Wednesday that the JCPOA nuclear agreement with Iran "fails to achieve the objective of a non-nuclear Iran. It only delays their goal of becoming a nuclear state." He added that it also fails to address "alarming ongoing provocations" by Iran in several countries throughout the Middle East and beyond. He added that the 90-day review of the deal which began earlier in the week when the State Department certified that Iran was complying with the JCPOA would include a review of related issues to determine Washington’s next steps. He also said Iran's "nuclear ambitions are a threat to the world's peace and security... An unchecked Iran has the potential to travel the same path as North Korea and take the world along with it."

“The Trump administration has no intention of passing the buck to a future administration on Iran," he continued. "A comprehensive Iran policy requires we address all of the threats posed by Iran, and it is clear there are many."

His comments came a day after Secretary of Defense James Mattis issued his own criticism of Iran during a visit to Saudi Arabia. He is due to visit Israel on Friday.

Here is a video of Mattis’s remarks to the press in Saudi Arabia
